For Families

For Families

Please feel free to call us at 323-744-1314 for us to help you gain access to ABA services, we are here to serve you!

We offer both In-home (In-person sessions) and telehealth (video sessions). We respect our families preferences to be seen in person or via video sessions.

Assessment: Functional Behavioral Assessments

ABA services include an assessment phase, which is commonly known as FBA or Functional Behavior Assessment. FBA is a process that includes intake of an individual’s information from behavioral difficulties, communication deficits, self-help and hygiene needs, and concerns with access to community and its resources. During the assessment phase, we conduct parent or guardian interviews to understand concerns regarding an individuals needs and how we can tailor the ABA program to help an individual to reach their highest level of functioning in their home, community, and school. We also promote questions about the overall process of ABA including benefits and what to expect during assessment, treatment, and fadeout of ABA program. Once an assessment has been conducted, our providers will write a report and submit to the funding source for an authorization for treatment.

ABA Services

After the assessment (FBA), ABA services begin with a one to one staff that either comes to the family home or visits via video depending on family’s preferences. The first 2-3 weeks will include the staff establishing a connection with the individual by building rapport via leisure activities, communication, and learning about preferences(likes/dislikes).

Once rapport is established, we work with individuals with individually tailored goals to reduce problem behaviors and gain access to replacement behaviors along with other skill acquisition goals that were established during the assessment phase. The staff (Behavior Interventionist) will collect data during session to track the progress of goals and the clinical supervisory team analyzes the data to help an individual reach mastery and generalization of goals.

Parent Training and Education

During ABA services, we also offer an individual’s family members the opportunity to part-take in parent training and education with our clinical supervisory team which includes teaching specific ABA strategies and helping family members become fluent in applying the ABA strategies to everyday life. This also offers parents or guardians to ask questions or bring up concerns regarding behaviors and other goals.

Supervision

The clinical supervisory team at California Behavioral Care is equipped with tools to help guide and oversee the progress of an individual using research-based methods and data analysis to track the progress of all goals being targeted. Supervisory team includes BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) and Case Managers (Master’s lever professionals). All cases have oversight by a Certified Behavior Analyst.

Fadeout

Fadeout occurs when an individual is meeting most of their goals and there is significantly reduced behaviors, where hours will begin to be shortened towards graduation of program. Which means, an individual who was receiving services, engages in reduced behaviors and parents or guardians are able to manage the behaviors and communication, social, self -help, and community goals have been mastered. Parent goals are also mastered where a parent or guardian is able to apply learned ABA strategies in their daily life. Once an individual graduates, our clinical team will coordinate with the parent or guardian to create a graduation session (last day of sessions), which may include saying goodbye to the one to one staff and supervisory team along with a certificate of completion or badge for the individual who received the ABA services.
